What’s the Difference Between
Private and Charter?
Building on 25 years of success, our academic program at Cornerstone Schools serves the children of Detroit in a safe and nurturing environment. Both ISACS and ISO certified, our commitment to excellence is part of all that we do. Cornerstone was named the #1 school in Detroit by Excellent Schools Detroit. Our Christ-centered, private school curriculum provides a holistic education from preschool through high school, with an emphasis on academic achievement, character development, foreign language and the arts. Students attend weekly chapel services and learn about the life and teachings of Jesus. As a private school, Cornerstone Schools is tuition-based.
Cornerstone Charter Schools was built on the same high expectations Cornerstone has become known for. Our three K-8 and one high school deliver a high-tech, engaging learning experience designed to help children excel on all levels. The curriculum emphasizes academic rigor, good character education, foreign language and the arts. Our charter schools are ISO certified, ensuring excellence in all aspects of our organization.
Cornerstone’s charter schools operate as public school academies, and submit to all state standards and regulations that apply to public schools. Enrollment is by application and is only limited by available capacity. There is no cost to attend a charter school.
Operates on an extended school day.
