Peer Tutoring Expands Students’ Capacity for Learning

Madison-Carver Academy’s Middle School Peer Tutoring Program is a stellar example of Cornerstone’s innovative approach to learning. The program invites middle school scholar students to undergo an arduous selection process to become a member of the peer tutoring team. They are then taught tutoring skills, working with younger students on Common Core math skills in interactive sessions.

Cornerstone Teachers Are Passionate

Mrs. Liedel is a Reading Specialist and MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) Coordinator at Washington-Parks Academy. She’s passionate about teaching children reading skills and instilling a love of reading in her students. That enthusiasm comes from an experience she had with her own reading teacher as a child.

She shared her story on video to help us find more teachers who are as committed to student success as she is. If you know an exceptional teacher, they’re welcome to attend our Career Fair on Tuesday, June 26 from 9am to 2pm at Cornerstone Health + Technology High School.
