Hello Cornerstone Partners!
We’re excited to announce several meaningful changes to our Partner Morning Program for the 2018-2019 year. These improvements will enhance the Partner Morning experience for both students and Partners. Read about all of the changes below:
The Partner Program has a new look!
The new program logo depicts students and Partners from all walks of life working together as part of a group.
We are asking Partners to commit to attend Partner Morning for one school year.
When Partners are unable to attend, students are greatly disappointed. We understand that scheduling conflicts can occur, so we are asking that you try to send a substitute when you are unable to attend. This also helps us ensure we have a sufficient number of Partners for each classroom at every Partner Morning. Our students look forward to seeing you and spending time with you at each Partner Morning. Partners will now be paired with a classroom of students instead of individual students.
This will enable Partners to connect with more than one student and it will give all students the chance to interact with Partners as there are not enough Partners to pair with individual students.
There will be five Partner Morning events this year, which will give Partners more opportunity to connect with students. Both Partners and students have shared that they would like to spend more time together.
We have added the Cornerstone Health + Technology High School to the Partner Program this year.
For those of you who are inspired by connecting with high school students, we are in need of a new group of Partners for this school to help students with their Senior Defense Project. This project is likened to a “Senior Thesis” presented to a panel of staff and experts after a year of intense research. Partners who volunteer at the high school will be asked for their area of expertise so that like-minded students may be grouped together with adult experts.
Our new RSVP process gives Partners the option to export Partner Morning events into an Outlook or Google calendar. Also, it is important to RSVP for each Partner Morning, as it helps us ensure there are enough Partners for each classroom.
Partners will have access to their personal information on file with the ability to make changes as needed.
Each Partner Morning will follow a theme:
• September 2018 – Standards of Character
• November 2018 – Gratitude
• January 2019 – Career Pathways: Partner Presentations
• March 2019 – Entrepreneurship
• June 2019 – Cultural Exploration
