Sandy and Tom Youngblood have been supporting the students of Cornerstone for more than 25 years. “We go all the way back to when Clark Durant and Cardinal Maida got together to start Cornerstone, and we’ve been here ever since,” Tom says. Sandy and Tom have a heart for education and for doing what they can to help ensure Cornerstone students reach their full potential.
Sandy and Tom made their 2018 annual gift through a contribution from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Tom shared, “We contacted our financial services provider, who gave us a form to complete. The donation was dispersed directly to Cornerstone, and we received a notice in the mail. It’s a great way for us to support all the good things happening at Cornerstone.” We are grateful to Sandy and Tom for their generous giving over the years.
If you’re over 70 ½, you may want to consider a year-end contribution to Cornerstone Education Group through your IRA. If you haven’t yet taken your required minimum distribution (RMD), this is the perfect way to meet your requirements and help Cornerstone’s children. Gifts like these may reduce your income and reduce your taxes even if you do not itemize.
