This year, the Cornerstone Health + Technology High School’s junior class participated in a two-week history curriculum, based on the stage play “Hamilton.”
The Hamilton Education Program was created by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and allows eligible high schools to integrate Alexander Hamilton and his era into classroom studies. At the end of the two-week unit, students submit a video of their own performance of a Hamilton story to the Institute.
Three Cornerstone students – Desmond Farhadi, Shardai Lewis, and Daye’La Ford – were selected to perform the same Hamilton story they recorded in their video on stage at the Fisher Theater, live, for an audience of 2000+ before the Hamilton show in Detroit. All Cornerstone juniors also received a ticket to attend that performance.
Congratulations, Desmond, Shardai, and Daye’La!
