To work at a charter school, yes certification by the state of Michigan is required. The state does provide for a one-year provisional certification for those pursuing a Michigan certification while teaching. A degree in the field is strongly preferred for certain subjects.

CEG holds Open Enrollment annually in September. Any changes made to benefits during OE will become effective October 1.
Employer-paid Life Insurance and AD&D is 1x an employee’s annual salary. CEG does offer optional benefits allowing you to purchase additional Life Insurance and AD&D, if desired.
CEG offers a 403(b) plan. All new employees will be automatically enrolled with a 4% contribution, that you can change anytime. CEG will match any contribution amount of up to 6% at 25%. You will become fully vested in your retirement plan following one (1) year of service.
CEG has both 10- and 12-month employees. 10-month employees will receive 8 “All-Purpose” days per school year. Please be advised that during your first year of service PTO days will be prorated based on your hire date.
